Kirkistown Motor Racing Circuit

In 2016, Kirkistown Racing Circuit will award a prize to the driver with the Fastest Race Lap at each National Championship event taking place at the Co Down track.

Kirkistown, situated near the fishing village of Portavogie on the picturesque Ards Peninsula in Co Down has been home to the 500 Motor Racing Club of Ireland since 1953.

Amongst the visitors to Kirkistown are many famous motorsport names including the likes of Peter Collins, Ken Tyrrell, Paddy Hopkirk, John Watson, Martin Donnelly, Eddie Irvine, Derek Daly, Michael Roe, Kenny Acheson, James Hunt and Eddie Jordan. Several of these ended up in Formula 1.
